Q
Points of caution when using the "SGLI Map projection & GeoTIFF conversion Tool"
A
The following summarizes key notes when using the "SGLI Map projection & GeoTIFF conversion Tool"(frequently asked inquiries).
In addition, the above information is also described on p. 2 of the tool user’s manual. Please refer to it as well.
- When converting L2 tile products to GeoTIFF, gaps may occur between adjacent tiles. To display the tiles without gaps, specify “Resampling: NN” in the conversion options.
- When converting L2 tile products to GeoTIFF, variations in the output extent may occur. Although the source tile products have a fixed coordinate extent (number of pixels per tile: 250 m resolution = 4800×4800; 1 km resolution = 1200×1200), this tool determines the projection position and image size based on the valid pixel extent. Therefore, the output GeoTIFF extent (pixel dimensions) varies from tile to tile.
- The /Geometry_data/Obs_time in L2.LAND.LST cannot be converted to GeoTIFF. The /Geometry_data/Obs_time in L2.LAND.LST is currently outside the scope of this tool (a signed 8-bit dataset) and therefore cannot be converted to GeoTIFF.
For details including operating procedures, please refer to the following.
If you need to separate and handle data within the same tile based on observation time, please consider using the following tool.
